One Service Community Living Services Ltd. was founded in Calgary, Alberta, with a simple but powerful belief: everyone deserves to live with dignity, independence, and a sense of belonging. As a not-for-profit organization, we are committed to supporting individuals with developmental disabilities and complex needs by creating opportunities for meaningful community participation, personal growth, and independent living. Our story is built on compassion, lived experience, and a genuine desire to make a difference in the lives of individuals and families.
Our founder and Chief Executive Officer, Nelson Ojong, came to Canada as a refugee over a decade ago, bringing with him a determination to rebuild his life and contribute meaningfully to his new community. Having personally experienced the challenges of starting over, Nelson developed a deep appreciation for the importance of belonging, dignity, and access to opportunities. Over the years, he has dedicated more than seven years to the disability services sector, working directly with individuals with developmental disabilities and complex support needs as both a frontline support professional and team leader. With a Master's degree in Industrial and Organizational Psychology, he brings together practical frontline experience, leadership expertise, and an understanding of human behaviour to shape the organization's person-centred approach to service delivery.
Through One Service, Nelson has turned his professional experience and personal journey into a broader mission of empowering others. His vision is to build an organization where individuals are not defined by their disabilities but recognized for their abilities, aspirations, and potential. Today, One Service continues to develop its community inclusion, life-skills, and supported living initiatives while building partnerships with families, caregivers, government agencies, and community organizations. Our commitment is to create a future where everyone feels supported, respected, and empowered to live a meaningful and fulfilling life.

Get to Know Us
We are a Calgary-based non-profit agency, incorporated in the Province of Alberta to support the exceeding needs of families, youth, adults, and seniors with disabilities/complex needs. Our support services include Complex needs, independent living, assisted living, respite care, community access, day program, and 24/7 residential services. Our programs are designed to meet the specific needs and interests of the individuals we support.

Community Inclusion & Social Connections
At One Service Community Living Services Ltd., we believe everyone deserves to feel valued, included, and connected. Our Community Inclusion & Social Connections Program is designed to empower adults with developmental disabilities to build meaningful relationships, develop social confidence, and actively participate in their communities.

Independent Living & Life Skills Academy
Deliver group workshops in meal planning, budgeting, transportation skills, digital literacy, personal safety and everyday decision-making.

Inclusive Employment & Skills Readiness
Provide employment exploration, interview preparation, workplace communication, volunteer placements and partnerships with inclusive employers.

Family & Caregiver Support Network Run caregiver peer groups, resource-navigation workshops, family education and community connection events.

Transportation Services
We offer 24/7 transportation services to guarantee children's safety and proper care during their journeys to different destinations, including school, therapy sessions, and visits with their biological families, all facilitated by our staff.

INTAKE SERVICES
At 1 Service Community Living Services (1SCLS), we endeavour to gather all pertinent information that will aid us in delivering the optimal service. Our services are available to individuals with funding from Persons with Developmental Disabilities (PDD), including Family Managed Services. During intake, we gather input from the individual, their guardians, family members, and other involved professionals. This encompasses, but is not restricted to:

Employing various tools to evaluate the individual's requirements.

Compiling information about the Individual's past life, strengths, interests, objectives, and areas needing assistance

Examining previous assessments.

Reviewing past support plans.

Information from schools or individualized program plans (PRP, IPP).

Incorporating other assessments (e.g., psychiatrist, occupational therapist, etc.).

Undertaking risk assessments.

Familiarizing the individual with their service rights and introducing relevant policies and procedures.
